DOH!! My grandfather owned a saw mill in White Sulphur Springs—one of three or four mills. And they all had these. In my defense, I never climbed into one though.

    PowerWerks Megabox fitment?

Has to be @1As2Rsk from KS! He's the only KTM 890 rider with an ADV1.

    PowerWerks Megabox fitment?

I very much agree, but with one addition. I feel more stable on gravel with the ADV1...kind of like having a rudder or a drogue behind you, giving stability. For me, the ADV1 doesn't really impact the ride in a strong side wind, but that seems to mean it's making up for the increased side...

    PowerWerks Megabox fitment?

PBKrarup, once said, "I don't push the envelope, I beat it into submission... " Yeah...perhaps an understatement!

Amazing what you can fit into panniers! ;) The cake looks amazing!! Well done Sharon! When we lived in Tokyo, for Thanksgiving all the Americans would assemble at the house/apartment of whomever had the largest oven (99% of homes in Japan don't have ovens). For several years, it was ours. One...

    Weight testing

Paul is exactly right! Here is a link to PDF instructions on how to adjust the shock and set the sag. The PSI doesn't matter and I would suggest you don't ever need to measure the PSI of the shock. What matters is amount of sag...which is how many inches the top of the trailer is from being at...

I love reading that you're paying attention to the sag as you add and remove weight!

I've been on that stretch of 89 countless times, going up into the national forests in the Little Belts with my grandpa in a1960's beatup tan Ford pickup. The bed held two small and one large McCulloch chainsaws. It was where any tree on the ground was firewood for the winter. On the way back...

It's hard to imagine ND in a state of greeness. I've driven Hwy 2 more times than I care to remember, and always brown, brown, brown. Hopefully I will get to see it in a couple of weeks as I drive to Touratech.

    Bags on the Bike?

I completely agree. This pan from Sweden is scary smooth, perfectly uniform, and has an amazingly slick surface. I season it occasionally with avacado oil and 500° in the oven, but regular use keeps it extremely slick.

    Bags on the Bike?

I've looked very carefully at it over the years, and when I got it in my hot little hands, I spent a morning carefully scraping off the decades of "stuff" encrusted on the bottom hoping to find a mark of some kind. But, there were no markings there. When I showed the pan to my dad after removing...

    Let them eat cake.

We live in Chicago, but our familes are in NE and SD, so we cross the Ol' Mississip at least a few times a year. We made a game for our kids when they were young to count how many times they could spell Mississippi while crossing it. A couple of weeks ago, we went to NE over Memorial Day weekend...
