Canoe/kayak mounting?

Yup, I'll take that heat. I've got a 16' fiberglass canoe that has a 3' beam. Any possibility that a frame could be developed to support a canoe of those dimensions? Weight is 60 lbs, paddles need to be considered, as well as PFD (Personal Flotation Devices). Thanks for any help!

Peter, I canoed a lot as a Scout in the Pacific Northwest and in AK. The weight is not an issue. The frame could be easy part, schedule 80 PVC is tough stuff.
It's the length. I was thinking about this since we chatted and just went out to measure. (Yes it's 4 AM, but the racoons are up, so my dogs are up so, I'm up) Tenere + ADV1 = a bit over 12'
I'm making some assumptions about how the Ruffly rack will extend off the back, similar to my Bumont topcase plate.
3' of ADV1 deck is available to you. Meaning even if you can build a rack to hold the canoe, it is going to be 13' of overhang behind the license plate.
French oars, PFD, all do-able today. But for real world use, I think it's time to consider an inflatable hull.

That said, if you want to attempt a bike+trailer+canoe=25' rig, I'm SO down to help ya build it!! I expect it'll look a bit like this History of Roadog – Walneck Swap in the end :p
