Parking with the ADV1

B2E2RUN

Beta Tester
So I did a little experiment with the ADV1 this weekend. I compared the lean angle and weight when the ADV1 is parked left, straight, or right side behind the bike. As you can tell by looking, with the adv1 to the left of the bike (as looking at the bike) it leans the furthest. Straight has some lean, and to the right had the least lean. I also put a scale under the kick stand. When the ADV1 is to the left, the weight on the kiosk stand was 280 lbs. To the center was 230 lbs. To the right was 180 lbs (surprising 100 lbs difference).

So, if you have the chance when parking, keep the ADV1 to the right if facing the bike, or to the left if on the bike and the ADV1 is behind you.

DUDE! Love that you test and used a scale as well!
Parking with the trailer on the kickstand side until I can test for myself...

That was a great way to test this. I knew from from my experience that where the ADV1 was positioned made a big difference. When I parked, I would move the trailer to the "clutch side" or the right side to help stableize everything. Thanks for the proof of my concept.

How did I miss this!! Fantastic research and extremely useful!

Thanks so much for doing this and sharing the info. It makes a ton of sense, but to have it quantified is amazing.
