Hi Rod,
Here are some accessories that either I would be interested in or I think others might be interested in. A couple I mentioned in another thread, but I thought it might be useful to add them here:
Here are some accessories that either I would be interested in or I think others might be interested in. A couple I mentioned in another thread, but I thought it might be useful to add them here:
- “Roof top” cargo box. Similar to the roof rack cargo carriers on cars and SUVs but smaller and slimmer. Aerodynamic, light weight, fiberglass, clamshell design. This really opens up the options to take your bike, instead of a car, when you have something longer that you need to bring with you.
- Cross bars for the top like a roof rack. I suppose these would be simple enough for any owner to fabricate, but the idea is to have a couple cross bars across the top that you could secure larger items to. They don’t need to be very big to be useful. You may not want to encourage your customers to add bulky, top heavy items to their trailers, but few of us ride bikes because they are the most sensible option.
- 5 gallon bucket holders on the sides, so they can be used as panniers. I find the standard 5 gallon Home Depot bucket to be amazingly useful. Sturdy weatherproof cargo container. Get a lid shaped to be a seat and you have a sturdy seat at camp. Then add all the useful things you can do with a big bucket to get camp chores done. Consider square buckets as well as round so you can get more use of the space on the side of the trailer.
- Long cargo baskets. Also on the side, like a long pannier. Similar to what you find on cargo bicycles. They would be a good place to carry your groceries or various other odd shopping items and it could all be quickly secured with a simple bungee net on top.
