Great pix, what mapping software are you using?
I've done a couple hun miles on gravel roads, not riding aggressively, and never noticed any slippage.
I was just headed up ID7 and met a guy coming down on a HD bagger. He said "Don't go up there, it's too twisty!" He had turned back after a mile.
His loss, it's a great road. Scary AF, but great.
BMW let's ride app. It's connected to the bike. Lots of cool info. Max speed lean angle left and right acceleration and deceleration g forces. Pics and where pics were taken along the route.
 
Took a break from the bikes in Southern Idaho and went for a ride with cousin in his Polaris Ranger. There's nothing quite like finding a high mountain lake and roasting hotdogs over the campfire.

What a day! We left Ririe, Idaho and headed into Jackson then through the Tetons. We were blessed, minimal clouds and was able to see the Tetons. Continued East on 26 and 50 miles from Casper Ran into some new friends from Florida. He's riding a T7 she's riding a 500 Honda Rebel. The T7 had a mismounted front tire so I helped him with it. Found the tube was damaged. So grabbed out the spoons and we swapped in his brand new tube. It's not holding air. You guessed 1/2 of it. Pinch flat he hot a bit aggressive with the spoons. But the seam on the inside of the tube looked dry rotted. That was where the most air was coming from. So I loaded his front rim and tire on the trailer adjusted the sag and off to Casper. Well get it fixed and back out to them this morning.

I have not ridden in ID in 5 years but I have very fond memories. I mean 3 stops and 2 tickets, 1 warning inside of 36 hours? What a state! :P
Snark aside, 1 of those 2 tickets was earned and ID is on my "damn-I-gotta-get-back-there" list.
Thanks for the amazing pics, they are making my right wrist itch...
 
What a trip! After helping the Baileys get up and going we followed them into Casper had lunch and said our good byes it was 3pm and 92° we made it to Lusk, WY and called it. The Best Western has extremely comfortable beds. And a made to order omelet station. We left at 6am by 10am it was already in the 90's we stopped 330 miles from home. Today we left at 4am. Forecast was 103° we weren't going to wait around to see.
As we pulled into the garage this afternoon we had 4750 miles for the trip.

What did I learn from 4750 miles with the BMW GSA and the ADV1.

The heat from the exhaust MUST be deflected away from the Bobbin.

Always check the sag! It's quick and easy. If you add, subtract or move weight on the trailer check the sag.
I had a couple times I didn't check and Sharon had filled the water bottles on the trailer and I could feel it.
keep the weight left and right really close. It you're heavier on one side make sure it's opposite the kickstand.

My GSA has adjustable suspension and depending on the parking lot. I would have to raise or lower the bike to keep from falling over. I found placing the weight over the axle did better. The more forward the more weight it put on the bike and the ride suffered.
With the weight balanced over the tire I had no issues doing the posted speed limit. 😜

On HWY 245 in Oregon it was a twistie paved road with alot of chip stone sprayed all threw the corners. I might have been pushing it a bit. But Sharon said she seen the trailer slip just a bit. I didn't loose my line. It felt like it does in slow speed maneuvers. Just a quick 1 to 2" slip in the deep stuff. It corrected so fast I wasn't able to react to it. Just gave a little bump.

We had alot of positive feedback back. One gentleman Said he was at Redmond. So this was the first one he'd seen in the wild. Everyone is impressed with the build quality.

Thank you Rod and Luke for a quality trailer. This thing is a total game changer.


Bike and trailer with nothing on weighs 800lbs loaded weight was 1000lbs. Trailer unladen weight attached to bike was 80lbs loaded was 150lbs on the trailer. Before loading a T7 tire and wheel. My guess would be 180ish on the trailer. I noticed the trailer felt heavier but didn't effect handling.

Excell cycle werkes makes an exhaust extension for the factory exhaust. Unfortunately not for Akropovic. I did some redneck engineering on the road and was able to make it work. It's ugly but it works. Pic is the Excell

I'm getting the non-testbed ADV1, hopefully fairly soon after Rod & Luke return from the MOA rally, and it shouldn't be bobbin/axle assembly, but still...

2020 BMW GSA in Kalamata, with green Mosko panniers & 40L duffle, very much like yours. You have good taste in color schemes. :D

Agreed on all points. Running the electric preload up or down on my Tenere can make a big difference when parking, to get he lean right.
I have a bit of a Shining thing going on with sag, I think I have it right then <grrr>
But when I stop overthinking it and just ride, even if the sag aint perfect, this thing just rolls beautifully. Rod & Luke built something special here.

Only visible differences - I have the black rims and don't have the top case. I suppose we could do a point-by-point comparison some time. :D
