Also not sure how BMW CANBUS nonsense gets heavy gauge power to charge/recharge such a thing. Luke's wiring is brill for most things, but heavy amperage would require dedicated circuits, I think.

Yeah, I'm not depending on the CANbus to charge the Powerwerx battery, that's the solar panel's job.

I worked with a guy on the 14th (Jay Fenton) taking down a ham operator's 30' antenna from his home and then toured Jay's welding/fab shop in Richmond. Very knowledgeable and if you ever need/want a tall ham radio antenna, he can help.

I mentioned what I'm looking at doing and he offered his assistance, so I may let him take a look at all the components plus the radio & antenna and see if we can cobble together one or more solutions.

Any way I can get a top-down picture of the top compartment? I keep on thinking there's a step/platform at the back that's a few inches deep, am I imagining things? Also imagining that the sloped angle is about 45-degrees & 4-5" long? No rush/hurry, just trying out LibreCAD for funsies.
