Well, somebody's gotta jump in here first...

Hi Peter.

That’ll be cool to see what you put together for you and the pooch. With the ADV1, you should have a pretty sweet setup.

I might have passed through you old stomping grounds yesterday. Though I didn’t see much. I’m in Southeast Mass and did my first iron butt ride yesterday. Just went west on I90 through New York until I hit 500 miles, so I went through Albany, Syracuse, Rochester, and Buffalo. Then I turned around and came back. My turnaround point was one mile short of the PA border.

Nothing interesting about my background. Had street bikes when I was in college, and after, but gave them up when my kids were born. Picked up a WR250R during Covid and then a Super Tenere shortly after that. Now I’m loving doing BDRs (With the WR) and other moto camping trips with the S10.

Hi, Jim! Congratulations on your IB!! I tried that once a few (10?) years ago but a gastro bug screwed up my schedule... Maybe I'll do it again soon.

I hope your ride wasn't too boring by slabbing the entire way! If you ever get out to this area, let me know and I can show you around. It's really nice to be able to ride 365 days a year! :giggle:

I'm meeting up with Tony out of San Mateo tomorrow AM for the Easter sunrise on Mt Tamalpais, he's one of the ADV1 beta testers and it's on his Tenere. We'll take pics & post, of course!!

It was a good (at times terrifying) day, great to meet Peter, he has a sweet HAM setup that'll look great when it moves to the ADV1.
Congrats Jim on your IB! I've done them twice, not really on purpose just got rolling early and had a good groove so just kept going.
Who here will be the first to IB with an ADV1? :p

Thanks Peter and Jim for jumping in here! It's great to learn more about you.

Jim...pretty impressive that you just cranked out an IB. Congratulations!

I'm really glad to hear that Jim, you and Tony got to get out on the road together! You're the second set of riding buddies born from the ADV1. Beta Testers Marlin and Defryn were the first to discover they lived pretty close to each other and went on a few rides together; they even rode over to the MOA rally together last year to visit. I was so wiped out from constant talking, I didn't even recognize Marlin who I'd met the year before!

Congratulations on your qualification for a service dog. I know it will be amazing to have it in your life. As for the ADV1 and Ruffly...I have met Greg and Jess (Ruffly owners) several times at events and they are fantastic people, a great couple, and truly wonderful business owners. We've talked about how we can possibly work together, but I'm very hesitant to have a dog on top of the ADV! At a minimum, there would need to be a something to protect the dog from anything coming off the rear tire.

Here's a picture of the first Ruffly and ADV1 pairing. John bought our last Beta trailer and we shipped it to the UK where it was assembled and John picked it up last Thursday. In the picture, the ADV1 is extremely overloaded just to see if he could stack everything on it, then he removed a lot of the stuff. But you can see that Milo rides on the back of the bike.

Hi, Rod!

Definitely, the Go-Ruffly goes on the bike's pillion/back shelf area, the dog doesn't deserve to be treated like luggage!!

It'll be fun/interesting to load up the ADV1 with all my accumulated baggage (physical, not mental) to see how it all could work out, so that's another adventure. With the Redverz Atacama tent, the double mattress pad, table, chair, dog bed, dog food, toys, beer, etc., it should be fun to work out the balance points.

Hi, Rod!
I'm trying to convince both you & Tony to get to the ADVRider.com Noobs Rally in Death Valley ADVrider Rally - 2025 dEATh vALLey nOObs rALLy - March 19-23 at the end of next March so there will be three ADV1s in attendance and potential sales!
The amount of high interest when Tony had his ADV1 was amazing, there were multiple people taking pictures and estimating how their bikes would get fitted with the frame or hub mount. If your web traffic skyrockets, Tony is the source!

Blocked out the dates next March. Let's continue the convo.
Been too long since I've been to death valley.
You bring the water, I'll bring the dog treats ;)

By the time of next year's rally, I should have my service dog, the Go-Ruffly K9 cockpit, and the ADV1 with ham radio installed, etc.

It's gonna be a heck of a party... 🎉🎉🥳🥳🎉🎉

Twisty loop, ten hours loop from/to San Leandro. Nice camping spots along the route.

If we're talking March of 26. I might have to load up and head out there. Weather can be iffy between here and there in March. I'd love to ride out but there's those pesky Rocky mountains to worry about. Might have to drag it out with the truck.
If that's the case I can fit 3 big bikes in my trailer and sure we could fit 3 trailers in the back of my truck. Run out past the snow zone. Unload and ride in. You know, like the Harley guy's do for Sturgis.🤣

Well, the US bought the Gadsden purchase for a reason, you know...

Drop down to 40, head west, hit Flagstaff, go down to 10, head west again, etc.
